Alan Kohll, founder and president of TotalWellness, was honored at the William M. Kizer Light of Wellness Awards Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 8. Governor Dave Heineman and Dr. Joann Schaefer, chief medical officer of the State of Nebraska, attended the ceremonies at the Mutual Of Omaha Dome. This year, 19 winners were recognized in one of three categories: leadership, Health Transformation, or Health Inspiration.
Each year, the Wellness Council of the Midlands bestows Leadership Awards upon senior-level managers who, like Alan, devote their time, resources, and encouragement to foster a healthy work environment for all employees. Alan's personal dedication to wellness serves as a beacon, inspiring others to embrace an active lifestyle and make intelligent, health-conscious choices.
Not only does Alan encourage TotalWellness employees to be healthy, but he also inspires the entire Omaha community to lead active, healthy lifestyles through the Race Omaha Event Series. Race Omaha hosts events to provide opportunities for all ages and abilities, including several triathlons and kids' events throughout the summer.
The Light of Wellness Award, a prestigious honor, was established to pay tribute to Kizer, an Omaha native and business leader who pioneered worksite wellness in America. Kizer's legacy, which includes the founding of the Wellness Council of the Midlands in 1982 and the Wellness Council of America in 1987, is a testament to the importance of wellness in our society.
Congratulations Alan!
