AlanKohllAlan Kohll, founder and president of TotalWellness, was honored at the William M. Kizer Light of Wellness Awards Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 8. Governor Dave Heineman and Dr. Joann Schaefer, chief medical officer of the State of Nebraska attended the ceremonies at the Mutual Of Omaha Dome. This year 19 winners in one of three categories: Leadership, Health Transformation and Health Inspiration were recognized.

Every year, the Wellness Council of the Midlands gives out Leadership Awards to senior level managers who provide encouragement, time and resources to promote a healthy work environment for all employees. Alan serves as a role model by inspiring others to live positively by staying active and making smart, healthy choices.

Not only does Alan encourage TotalWellness employees to be healthy, he also inspires the entire Omaha community to lead active, healthy lifestyles through the Race Omaha Event Series. Race Omaha hosts events to provide opportunities for all ages and abilities including several triathlons and kids events throughout the summer.

The Light of Wellness Award was created to recognize Kizer, an Omaha native and business leader who was the founder and inspiration for worksite wellness in America. Kizer founded the Wellness Council of the Midlands in 1982 and the Wellness Council of America, the national non-profit organization, in 1987.

Congratulations Alan!
