grass_sungrass_sunSo you want to help your employees improve their health? Great. We do too!

Building a wellness program to improve the health of your workforce can be an excellent investment in your employees, and ultimately the productivity and bottom line of your company. In order to build a sustainable employee wellness program, you’re going to need to get a baseline level of where your company is at health-wise.

Enter on-site biometric screening events. This large, intimidating phrase is actually quite simple. It’s an event run by healthcare professionals to measure a variety of health metrics with your employees. These metrics can include things like blood pressure, cholesterol and blood glucose. It’s important to host an event to measure these things for a few reasons.

  1. You can start to build your program with the aggregate results you receive as the wellness program management team
  2. Your employees will have an opportunity to ask questions and fully understand the tests and their individual results at these high touch events
  3. You can being to see health trends and patterns that exist within your company, and you can compare these trends from year to year (or quarter to quarter, every six months, etc.)

Sounds great right?! Well let’s take a look at some of the hard facts about screenings. In 2011 62% of large employers offered biometric screenings to their employees. With the changing healthcare landscape, this number has likely grown in recent years. Of the employers that offered screening events, 63% said employee engagement was the most common challenge. In fact, in the first year of screenings, an employer can expect only 30% employee engagement because employees tend to walk away feeling overwhelmed, frustrated or disappointed in their health.

And that’s where we come in…

We’re out to change the stigma surrounding corporate wellness and screening events. We offer a variety of biometric screening solutions run by excellent health professionals. We measure all of the major health metrics, have an efficient data collection process, and can even collect data digitally on-site. While all of this provides for a well-run, quality screening event, what sets us apart is:

We believe everyone is healthy.

Yes, you read that correctly. Everyone is healthy! Whether it’s eating fruit for breakfast, taking the dog for a walk or getting a full night of sleep, everyone has at least one healthy habit. At our screenings, we’ll help your employees dig up those habits and build off of them to create a healthier lifestyle.

This positive messaging will help your employees feel empowered to make long term changes, which will help you in the long run. Many screening events use scare tactics and point out what’s wrong with an individual. These scare tactics only work until the employee leaves the room and the fear subsides. So, out with the old (and scary), and in with TotalWellness.

At our biometric screening events, you can expect a few things.

First, we’ll provide you with aggregate results to build your wellness program. These group results will illuminate trends and highlight areas of focus for your corporate wellness program.

Second, we’ll prepare your workforce. Your employees will be given opportunity upon opportunity to ask questions about the health metrics, the results they received or how they can make changes. Our onsite health professionals will work with your employees to find current healthy habits and implement new ones that fit their lifestyle.

Together, the aggregate results and prepared workforce will provide a solid foundation on which to build your employee wellness program.

We might be a bit biased, but doesn’t that sound like a great way to start (or maintain) your wellness program?! If you have any questions about the process, our services or how to get started with your wellness program, feel free to reach out to us. Our contact information is right here!

What are you waiting for?! Say hello to your better screening experience.
