What We Learned from Our Community Garden Project

Posted by Becky Squiers on Thu, Nov, 05, 2015

As promised, we’ve released the final chapter of our #TWGardenProject Toolkit. This chapter is an excellent summary to help you learn along with us as you plan your garden for next year.

In Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, we went over the planning and production of our garden, as well as the steps we took to maintain it throughout the summer. In case you missed it - you can download the entire tool kit here.

In Chapter 3, we look back at those steps and reflect on what stood out, what we would have changed and what were our favorite uses of garden food.

What We Learned

We learned a variety of things from the communication about our garden to the types of foods people like to steal! Check out Chapter 3 for our major takeaways. Read through our lessons learned so you’re that much more prepared to start your garden next spring.

What We Would Change

We loved our garden project—really! That being said, there are always places to make improvements. In Chapter 3 check out the few things we wish we would’ve done differently so you can start one step ahead next year.

The Final Cookbook

Throughout the project, we were trying new recipes using our garden goodies. We’ve gathered our favorites for you in Chapter 3 so you can see the tastiest way to utilize your fresh produce.

Overall, we consider our garden project a success, and we can’t wait to get started again next year! If you’re planning a community garden where you work, be sure to read through all the chapters of our handy toolkit. Use the tips that apply to you, and don’t be afraid to adapt what we’ve done to fit your company culture.
