Ultimately, we would rather take the time and address potential issues than to put any participant at risk. That statement is true even if it means dealing with delays or extra work on our end. Participant safety is a priority.

That’s why we’re asking you to speak up! Our “Speak Up!” environment means a few different things for you as you work TotalWellness events.

First, it means that if you are uncertain or unprepared, you need to let us know.

If you’re not sure how to perform a specific procedure, the correct way to run a piece of equipment or where to find important details, we want to know. We have resources to help you learn and become prepared for every event you work. We can’t allow you to use those resources if we don’t know you need them. So, speak up!

Second, it means that if there’s any supply or equipment issue, you need to let us know.

We send supplies to contractors like you all across the country. Sometimes you’ll be dealing with multiple shipments, or even with supplies for multiple events. If you’re receiving supplies, you’re serving as the primary contractor for your event. Your duties as a primary contractor are outlined in the manual.

One very important duty is to ensure you have the correct supplies, and you take care of those supplies while they’re in your care. If there was a mistake in shipping, if something seems damaged or if you just forgot a box at home, we need to know. Delays are manageable, but poor participant experiences are not. So, speak up!

Finally, it means that if a mistake or error happens, you need to let us know.

We realize that we’re working with a network of contractors—human contractors. You’re human. And you’re going to make a mistake. Just like we’re human. And we will too. That’s just the nature of the game. The best way to handle mistakes, however, is to tackle them head on.

If you or someone you’re working with makes a mistake or error, we want to know. We want to help you fix the problem. We also want to adjust how we do things to hopefully prevent similar mistakes in the future. So, speak up!

In any situation, we would rather deal with delays, angry site contacts, or re-scheduling than put a participant at risk. In order to create solutions and help you avoid—or solve—problems, we need to know exactly what’s going on. If you’re uncertain or unprepared, if you have a supply or equipment issue, or if you make a mistake…speak up!
