It's no surprise - health information is very personal and ignites emotional responses. "Having my employer measure my weight and draw blood? At work?" This kind of response is common among employees - screenings can be seen as intrusive and uncomfortable. Add concerns over confidentiality, and biometric screenings can easily become an up hill battle.  To ensure successful onsite health screenings, open communication is critical. Clearly communicating to employees will inspire confidence, earn respect and win engagement. It's important to anticipate your employees' questions and address them before employees raise them. Most health screening vendors will help you create comprehensive FAQs that are tailored to your employee population. But to get you thinking, I've compiled some of the common questions your employees are likely to ask: **General Info **What is a biometric screening? Why are you offering screenings? Why should I participate in the screening? Who is eligible? Is this legal?  **Screenings** Do I get my results on the same day? What tests are included? How long will the screening take? Do I need to fast for the screening? What do I do once I have my results? Are there any complications from a fingerstick or blood draw?  Can I complete the screening at my Primary Care Physician's office?  **Incentives** Will this screening impact my premiums? Are there any incentives for participating? **Confidentiality ** Will my personal results be shared? Who will have access to my personal data? How is my confidentiality protected? What is my company going to do with the aggregate data? **Vendor** Who is providing the onsite biometric screening? What are the qualifications of the screening staff? How accurate is the equipment used during the screening? While FAQs are a valuable communication tool, don't overlook the power and importance of face-to-face communication. Two-way conversations can help you create a dialog with employees and address any questions head-on.
